      • it's getting late and you hear a colleague say this:
        • “Team, I am so done with this project.” How would you react?
        • keep focused on the work at hand
        • scatty = scatter-brained
      • your colleague says this:
        • The marketing team think(s) the launch is on Tuesday.
        • But the design team think(s) it's on Wednesday. what's going on?
        • do you say:
          • they must have **got their knickers in a twist **
          • they must have got their wires crossed
        • blunt
        • to get your knickers in a twist = lose your self-control, blow up
        • to get your wires crossed = get sth. wrong, confused sth., different understanding of the same situation
      • your colleague looks stressed.
        • She says: I've got to do these reports, I've got to pick up the kids from school, run a presentation, ring my grandmother up…
        • what might be a good response?
          • Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate. What can I do to help?
          • Sounds like you've got your glass half full. How can I help?
        • overwhelmed with work

      • your colleague has just delivered a presentation. to your mind, it was brilliant and you want to praise him. how do you say this?
        • hey, congrats! you knocked it out the park! well done.
        • congrats! you kicked it into the goal, well done.
